When you’re hitting shorter wedge approach golf shots inside the yardage of a full swing, you need a way to control your distance for anything less than a 100% full swing. This golf lesson will teach you how to fill in those shorter yardages.
Imagine the face of a clock, and swing your arms to different positions on the clock face on the backswing and then mirror that image on the follow through. For example, if your arms swing to 9 in the backswing, your arms finish at 3 on the follow through. If you swing back to 11 in the backswing, you finish at 1 in the followthrough.
Practice that at the range so you can figure out how far the golf ball goes with each shot. Doing this will effectively train your body to calculate the proper swing length for shots from various distances. Sound intriguing? Watch Doug Hammer, PGA, show you how.
