The difference between an amateur golfer and a tour player can be measured in fractions of an inch. When hitting a wedge for example, the bounce on the bottom of a wedge can keep an amateur from digging the leading edge of the club into the turf and hitting a fat shot or keep a pro from sweeping crisply beneath the golf ball and getting optimum spin. In this video, Richard S. Johnson explains wedge bounce from a tour perspective.
