In this golf instruction video, Joe shows how to fade a driver off the tee. It’s the same technique you use for every club.
Just remember, the less loft on the clubface such as with a driver, the more sidespin you get and the more turn you get from the golf ball left to right. The more loft on the clubface like on an 8 iron, the less sidespin is applied at impact and at some point, there is too much loft resulting in negligible sidespin applied resulting in only a high lofted straight shot with no fade at all.
Because of the effect of more side spin created with less lofted clubs, that’s why it’s advisable to hit a 3 or 5 wood teeshot onto a narrow fairway because the golf ball won’t fade or draw as much as it would have with a driver which has less loft.
Technique:
1. Aim clubface at target.
2. Aim stance or bodyline left of target to where you want the golf ball to go initially.
3. Heel ahead of toe at impact with the golf ball.
4. Swing down your body line.
Try reversing the technique for a draw.
