Making solid contact with the golf ball

September 10th, 2007 · No Comments

In this golf instruction video, CPGA Pro Shawn Clement explains how gravity and centrifugal force determine where the ball position should be. If you rotate the body and arms correctly to setup for the down swing, everything else somewhat falls into place very easily. Centrifugal force and gravity play a large role in striking the ball correctly and if you cooperate with them both, solid contact will be achieved somewhat simply.

Hitting down into the ball, is what elevates the golf ball when the ball rides up the face of the club and the ball spins backward. A proper divot will start just a little after hitting the golfball as the club reaches the lowest part of the circle in the arc of your swing.
