The first 1:10 of this video are accolades for Roger, and then he gets into the meat of the video. This instruction video explains how the short game is really what separates the scorers from the wannabees. Also, setting up for a chip shot is really a mirror image of a full swing at the point of impact minus the wide stance.

Review of Chipping Fundamentals for good contact and good technique.
Visualize what a good full swing looks like at the point of impact with the golf ball.
1. The belt buckle is pointing toward the target
2. The weight has shifted to the front foot.
3. The hands in front of the golf ball.
4. Wide Stance.

Use these positions above minus the wide stance to set up for a mini swing “chip shot” that mirrors the impact position of a full swing.
1. The belt buckle is pointing toward the target
2. The weight is on the front foot.
3. The hands in front of the golf ball.
4. Narrow stance with ball off of right toe.
5. 85% of weight on left side.
This setup increases your chances of having solid contact with the golf ball on a chip shot. Hit the golf ball first and then the turf.

The muscles and body movement that you use during this shot are
1. A little movement in the body.
2. A little weight shift to the right and back to the left.
3. Shoulders and arms, NOT wrists.
4. Drag the club through impact.
