In this golf instruction video, Jim explains how to setup to hit a lob shot out of the rough over a bunker with a small landing area .
“If” the ball is in a good lie sitting “up” in the rough, play the ball forward or “up” in your stance so that you can sweep into the ball and pop it up.
“If” the ball is in a bad lie down in the rough, play the ball back in your stance naturally making your swing steeper so you can dig the ball out.
Setup with your stance open and the clubface both open to the target line. Make a long smooth swing and make sure you complete your followthrough so that you don’t decelerate.
