PGA Golf Pro Roger Gunn - Hitting Golf Shots in Windy Conditions

August 8th, 2007 · No Comments

It’s important to know how to hit a low trajectory momentum penetrating low back-spin golf shot into the wind. In this golf instruction video, Roger illustrates how to do that. Remember the rule “Swing Easy when it’s Breezy.” Add an extra club or two or three so you can swing easy. Swinging easy is what prevents the backspin from occuring. Whatever club you choose, swing the club a 3/4 swing as if you were intentionally hitting that club 10 yards shorter than you would a normal full swing.

1. Three quarter backswing.
2. Choke down and make the club as long as the club that you would normally be swinging a full swing. For example, if you would normally hit a pitching wedge and you choose a 7 iron, choke down the 7 iron grip until the club is as long as a pitching wedge.
3. Feel like your dragging the handle of the golf club as you go through the impact area.

Make practice at the driving range easier and faster. Teego, the Ultimate Golf Ball Teeing Machine
