Why do you “Pull” Short Iron Shots?

September 5th, 2007 · No Comments

The Golf Doctor & Brent Buckman, friend of PGA Pro Ben Crenshaw talk about “going over the line” and what effect it has on the accuracy of your golf shot.

On your down swing, you must bring the club back through the impact area on the same line that you take the club back on your backswing. If your head and upper body lateralize or move toward the target to start the downswing, it turns your shoulders to point left of the target which results in an outside to inside swingpath through impact, pulling the golf ball to the left.
